March President’s Letter
Our board met last week. We are preparing to print and distribute the 2019 Neighborhood Directories. Thank you to George Eveland for working on this again.
I pointed out to the board that we were disappointed that the boats in the Christmas boat parade didn’t follow the route and go all the way down to the end of Dolphin Blvd. We will emphasize this to the organizers for next year.
We now have our New Neighbor Welcome Committee. Our website has details with Trish Small’s phone number. Please help us to make contact with any new neighbor near you.
As outlined in the bylaws, every year we have a need for additional volunteers. One is for an audit committee and one is for an election committee. Please contact us if you can help.
In that regard, the election of new officers is just around the corner. Nominations will be accepted at the March general meeting. We are not so formal that you can’t nominate yourself. If you can’t make the meeting on March 14th you can contact the board or election committee to throw your hat into the ring.
This brings me to our next big thing – our March 14th General Meeting. Don’t miss it. Bill Israel has a great presentation about our neighborhood history: “The Pasadena Golf Club Estates Story – The History of a Golf Club and Waterfront Residential Community in Pinellas County, Florida”. We will also have food, a brief meeting with nomination of officers, and your input.
Coming up right behind that is the Neighborhood Yard Sale, March 23rd. Start thinking about what you can part with. (Tip- If you are new to the neighborhood, our roads get pretty congested for a few hours in the morning. Walking or biking is the best ways to shop. Have patience. It’s best if you can avoid trying to drive in or out of our neighborhood from about 8am until around 11am Saturday morning.)
Lastly, save the date: Spring Fling Block party with live music on April 13th.
Hope to see you all at the meeting.
